What Is This Page?
This page displays the traditional Chinese Almanac (Huang Li) for a specific date. It shows what activities are considered favorable ("Good For") or unfavorable ("Avoid") according to classical calendrical systems passed down for centuries.
Historical Sources
All data is derived from the Xie Ji Bian Fang Shu (εη΄θΎ¨ζΉζΈ), an official Qing-dynasty imperial almanac compiled under imperial authority and included in the Complete Library of the Four Treasuries (Siku Quanshu).
Primary SourceXie Ji Bian Fang Shu (1741 AD)
SystemHeavenly Stems & Earthly Branches
How to Read This Page
- Lunar Date β The corresponding date in the Chinese lunar calendar
- Gan-Zhi β The Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch combination for the year, month, and day
- Good For / Avoid β Activities traditionally considered auspicious or inauspicious
- Auspicious Hours β Two-hour periods with favorable energy
- Deities β Beneficial or unfavorable spiritual influences for the day
How It Works
The almanac uses a system of 10 Heavenly Stems and 12 Earthly Branches combined into a 60-unit cycle (Sexagenary Cycle). Each day's Gan-Zhi combination determines which spiritual influences are active, which in turn dictates the suitability of various activities.
This logic follows documented rules from the Xie Ji Bian Fang Shu and related classical texts β not personal interpretation.
